VE Innovation Day
Our six representatives were, from left to right, Lyla Mundkur, Anvitha Senthil, Sydeny Permuth, Aiden Echavarria, Reilly Smith, and Johnathan Caraballo. They all had the opportunity to go into breakout rooms based on their department and collaborate with individuals from other schools to find solutions to business problems specific to their departments.
On November 5th, six representatives from SmartCycle traveled to Keiser University to compete in VE Innovation Day. They were tasked with creating a solution to encourage children to limit their screentime without parent intervention to reduce screentime while also providing the parents with peace of mind. Our representatives came up with a solution called PausePerks.
PausePerks is an app that is downloaded onto the child's device and keeps track of the number of minutes they spend on their device daily and they are rewarded a certain number of points for spending a limited amount of time on their devices and at the end of the month, they can trade in their points for prizes such as jump ropes, kites, sidewalk chalk, balls, and other toys to encourage them to spend time outdoors.
The parents pay an annual subscription fee for either the basic or premium plan and are sent a catalog in the mail as well as via email that includes possible prizes and prize bundles that their children can get based off the number for points they accumulate.
Our representatives then presented their business pitch for PausePerks and placed 3rd overall in the competition.

2026 Southern Region Competition
Our SmartCycle team traveled to Fort Lauderdale to compete in the Southern Region competition, and we ended up winning Best Booth Design. This was a big accomplishment for us because it showed that all of our hard work and creativity really paid off. We put a lot of effort into making our booth stand out and clearly explain our business, so being recognized for it meant a lot. It also helped us feel more confident in our ideas and proved that we can compete at a higher level.
Trade Show at Freedom High School
At the trade show at Freedom High, it was really interesting to see all the different booth designs from other schools and how each team presented their business in their own unique way. We got to walk around, ask questions, and learn new ideas just by observing what others were doing. It gave us inspiration and helped us think about ways we could improve SmartCycle even more. At the same time, we felt proud of our own booth because we were confident in our design and how clearly we explained our business to visitors. Overall, it was a great experience that helped us grow and see where we stand compared to other schools.

National Branding Competition
Placing in the top 1% in the VE National Branding Competition was a huge achievement for our SmartCycle team. Out of so many schools and businesses across the country, being ranked that high shows that our brand stands out and connects with people. It proves that our logo, message, and overall identity are strong and professional. This is important to us because branding is a big part of any successful business, and doing well at the national level shows that we can compete with the best. It also motivates us to keep improving and taking our business even further.
